    Electoral reform is needed as the Electoral College system is outmoded and outdated. However, with State Rights being such a big issue there, I doubt that much will change. It has been in place for 200+ years.
    2.
    Consistent voting methods are required, but again, I think that the problem is States-based, with the States controlling the electoral voting processes in their individual States (contrasting this to the AEC control of the process in Australia).
    3.
    Voluntary voting has its own drawbacks as the party which mobilises more of its people generally gets the higher turnout.

    There were complaints made regarding postal ballots (etc) going astray in Qld.

    There have been some other rumblings (such as referrals to the Court of Disputed Returns) but nothing concrete as yet.
