    cgt, we are evolving from it now, or trying to. Tribal borders in the UK and US, for example, have largely disappeared into national borders, although the Scots are reversing that, and the Welsh are still a bit stroppy. And the latest 'no-borders" exercise in the EU is obviously a failure. Whether we will ever achieve a global community, or revert to hundreds of thousands of small communities living in harmony, time will tell.

    Personally I favour the latter, as a global community means global leadership - which cannot acquiesce to every communities needs, as evidenced by the USSR, the EU and in time, probably the USA.
