all addictive substances must needs be controlled by govt legislation. but to make it so expensive is only to encourage the rise of alternative forms of the drug so taxed. hence we've seen how difficult is the vaping problem.

another reason for my bias is that I know a number of people who have mental illness. such people struggle to survive in our world. they cannot manage money and some run out of cash a week before their next payday. these people are among a small group of people most likely to be addicted to drugs including alcohol. tobacco is a mainstay that, I suppose, comforts them. the cost of smokes has caused them to be the crims earliest target market for illicit tobacco.

its time the Labor Party saw the damage they have caused.

I don’t have a problem with it, you are just paying in advance your own lung cancer treatment payments. I’d expect similar when weed and mushrooms are legalised for advancing psychiatric treatment payments when they eventually have a psychotic paranoia break.
