Scotty when I was growing up, people who drank regularly or binged drank were looked upon as almost social outcasts. I remember on the rare occasions I saw adults drink, that it was drummed into me that is was an adult activity and that it should be done responsibly. Nowadays it seems that drinking like a crazed alcoholic is all the rage and I see lots of adults setting a bad example and getting hammered in front of their children and think nothing of it.
I went to a 21st birthday party recently and got asked numerous times “ are you driving tonight “ . or “ not drinking tonight big night last night?”.
I couldn’t believe the looks on people’s faces when I said that I don’t drink. I used to be in a group that went four wheel driving and camping. When I stopped drinking, a couple of decades ago, I no longer got invited on these trips. Alas , these days as a tea total I am the social outcast.
