Halal certification is just another parasitic tax on consumers and this time the funds don't go to the government's coffers.
What other companies do we have here that can reap such a benefit when they are not producing anything?
The Koran explains clearly what is Halal and what isn't, but I do not recall that a prayer over the food is required so long before one is going to consume it. Talk about value adding at the expense of us all.
