Two weeks later and we know that Karora were entertaining at that time a merger with Westgold.
It was they - Karora- who torpedoed the Ramelius approach by leaking to the media.
My understanding is that life of mine(s) was a key consideration in Karora's assessment of the 2 offers.It explains the rush by the Ramelius MD to announce the 10 year mine life at Mt Magnet. Whereas the merged Westgold entity has numerous 10 year mines the reality for RMS shareholders is that it has but one 10 year mine...presently.
My sense is that Ramelius has had its run in the present buoyant gold market and will slip behind the others until it addresses this life of mine issue. No, I'm not a holder ....just musing on the many choices available amongst the Aussie goldies this Saturday morning.
