ON THIS TOPIC ZERO HEDGE = ZERO BRAIN. ZH is good for some investment stuff though as some of their authors know their economics and market stuff. Their Syria authors are no more than propagandists. Some key points:
1. There is no so called "globalist" propaganda ATM ....... the UN is asleep at the wheel.
2. There are no goodies or baddies at leadership levels. Only ignorant, narcissistic psychopaths.
3. There are no "terrorist" armies and militias. After 7 or 8 years of war maybe 10% fighters in any particular groups are indeed evil scum. The value of human life has however diminished for many more.
WHO DEFEATED ISIS?
4. ISIS is not defeated. It is true that a large number of ISIS internationalists died in Raqqa and further south. Many ordinary ISIS fighters were conscripts who were forced to fight at the end of a gun barrel. Some have gone home. Others have joined other militias. Many fled to Turkey. Importantly, many "jihadists" among them have rebadged themselves and are now fighting for Turkey in Idlib and Afrin. Turkey arranged for many hard line jihadists to continue their so called jihad in Yemen and North Africa. IMHO the next trouble spot will be Pakistan.
TROJAN HORSES AND NATIONAL INTEGRITY
Talk of Syrian national integrity by Russia is crap. Putin's deal with Satan to secure gas pipeline routes ensures with absolute certainty that Syria will not exist under any form of governance structure in our lifetimes .
Any areas controlled by Turkey will never be let go by Turkey (or at least while Turkey is controlled by an openly Islamo-Fascist administration) .Erdogan is securing Idlib and Afrin and other areas of North Aleppo as "living space" for and administration of extreme jihadist militias to control. Should the US withdraw, all of Syria's North (and its oil) will come under the control of an Erdogan sponsored Islamo-fascist administration.
The impact and longer term chaos of Erdogan's Trojan horse will be felt violently in Turkey itself, former Soviet republics, Pakistan, China and Russia. (Xi is also asleep at the wheel).
