Now it has emerged that behind Taxonomy was the Craig Wallace-led Yuan Essentials, a close associate of Ms Hutson’s from previous dealings with the MFS-founded Premium Income Fund.
Then, in 2011, Yuan Essentials had purchased a 6.44 per cent in the National Stock Exchange-listed fund at a 70 per cent discount to net tangible assets, and held by the company for Wellington Capital, the business Ms Hutson is most closely associated with.
Two weeks before Ms Hutson announced G8 would proceed with the Affinity bid, Yuan deposited $8.4 million with Taxonomy, which it then used to purchase Affinity shares....''
