Hey there Barrel Sitter since we off topic, I thought over here was a better place to continue that thread. Andre Fursov gives a good account of what the British are still hiding over Rudolph Hess, who flew to Scotland just a week or so before Barbarossa. He was mean't to be picked up by pro-Nazi elements in Scotland but Churchill's people got to him first, but still some kind of deal was made. It seems that the British certainly killed Hess when he was due to be released, so they didn't want him talking. Some kind of deal was made about Britain not opening a second front against Germany during Barbarossa, and they didn't. Hitler had two or three years in the East before any real resistance came from Britain. The United States would remain as much in the dark about it as anybody else. It's a British secret.
