From Vietnam to the ME none of the countries bombed into oblivion and occupied by US troops were "enemies" until the US attacked them.
You haven't got a clue as to what is driving endless US wars if you think they don't need boots on the ground. How could they install and maintain US puppet regimes if they don't have boots on the ground ?
