At this moment it probably couldn't give a damn, except maybe for a lot of veterans.
What does it say about Western military power? Because there has been a coalition of America and EU countries trying to defeat them and change the country to our liking.
As Robert Kennedy said about his brother in that famous and eloquent eulogy - "He saw wrong and tried to right it etc etc"
Here's an ancient but "backward" civilisation which has said to us (and Russia too): We don't want your democracy. We don't want our girls to go to school. And the rest of it.
Even if that was a fanatical minority - but it probably isn't - all the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't rearrange Humpty's life.

Before a large part of the world, in particular the muslim world, our Emperor has been seen to have no clothes.

Maybe the threat of economic sanctions will pressure the religious fundamentalists to not reverse the emancipation of women when the military pull out.

Its so sad that in 2021 we still have patriarchal types that want to dictate women's lives.
