Most of that bombing, and it was very much simultaneous - both countries were getting hit about the same time-frame. That was in the late 60's early 70's. They were mostly Arc Light operations. Tear up a lot of jungle with B-52's with no real-time targeting information. I was very near and saw a couple Arc Light drops myself. Very impressive - see a horizon of dirt and jungle tossed a hundred metres in the air - and feel the ground shake heavily . Net result - maybe a water buffalo.
Times have changed. It is much harder to hide now. And the bombs are far more accurate. It's all good. No more troops on the ground. They can be done like cockroaches from the air. A few more years - and robot boots do the clean-ups.
