Because a person does not blindly follow that which you accept as truth - they are immediately stereotyped as a bigot by you.

This is exactly my point.

People are free to believe what they wish. If you wish to believe this stuff that flows from the Catholic Church then that is up to you.

But you do what the Catholic Church hierarchy has done for centuries by calling those who challenge it and its authority as bigots.

Just another attempt at silencing those who dare to stand up to it.
