Only a few would use the Bible for historical reference; for christians its a matter of faith - you either have it or you dont.
Christians faith differ from Jews in that you cant be a Christian atheist yet you can be a Jewish one.
In most other respects they share common ground, disputes and wars based along religious lines are common to man.
