No that's not true at all. Random is random, but the mutations which survive are the best suited to the conditions as changes occur. That's what darwinism is all about.

Mutations occur randomly, but only those which have an advantage to survive will effectly continue on (can be generations or more) to reproduce and thus that mutation becomes a common thing within the species.

I do agree with the god thing, in terms of it is a pretty harsh reality to face: someone created you and the entire universe just to uh... watch? while people get murdered, go to war, destroy eachother in insane ways, and that's only what we know of in our little corner of the galaxy. Yeah good luck on eternity with that being.
