A really good foward looking documentary on SBS last night, featuring economist Jeremy Rifkin ( spelling?? ). Amongst other things he is an advisor to Germany and China on the economic future. While I never heard him mention the word Lithium he was clear that Germany and China were heading largely to small, local renewable electricity generation to use locally and feed the grid.  So a huge need for batteries to buffer and store this resource. He said an economic elephant in the room was the value of stranded infrastructure in the fossil fuel industry. He was absolutely clear that the future was renewables for economic as well as environmental reasons. I thought this show should be complusory viewing for our federal and state pollies of boths major parties.  Worth tracking down onSBS website.
