I agree with what you have said. I'm now retired and own everything however when I was 50 I got retrenched and for a while it was tough , with one child still at school , and not knowing when I would get a job. Employment agencies of no help saying over 40 is too old but fortunately I got a job through networking and that carried me through until retirement. When retrenched I had no debt after payout but now most would need in excess of $500,000 to pay off mortgages etc . My parents went through the depression and what they said as I grew up about having no debt has stuck with me . We have come through the best times in the world imo however I have concern for future generations.
