so as i thought "Injection in side of the eye depositing the drug in the vitreous for broad delivery throughout all cell layers in the eye"

I thought initially we were trying to find a cpp that could be injected into vein in the arm for example and it would then find its way to the targetted organ, be that a tumor or heart or kidney (or eye)? There was lots of talk a while back about next generations being more cell specific.
My point was it seems we struggled to make any major achievements here because while our cpp were very good at penetrating cells and escaping endosome the problem was they mostly penetrate every cell they come into contact with.
Hence my thought on why we now see the eye as our new target. It was chosen not because it is the next big thing but because at least in these early stages of cpp development it allows us to minimise sink effect, as now cpp is injected only into the eye and so does not come into contact with blood or organs or other unintended targets.
It seems like a very good idea as it may offer a short term avenue to market for a highly sought after treatment while in the background we still continue trying to work out how to use our technology in the larger body mass we contact intra venously.

i would be interested to know what the difference is with AAV approach to delivering drugs. Obviously some seem to be at or approaching clinical trials. Are they further advanced because despite their apparent tox issues they are more cell specific, or do they havr the same issue of entering every cell
