from what I understand, the initial study is conducted on patients currently presenting to the hospital with asthma symptoms. at such visit, the wheeze sound heard by Dr with stethoscope is compared to Wheezo device's detection of wheeze. so far I believe Prof Thompson has said that Wheezo wheeze defection highly correlates with wheeze detected by stethoscope. I forget how many subjects are needed to complete first study. but assuming there have been that many people admitted to hospital with asthma symptoms, then the conclusion of the first study should be close?
The second study involves actually inducing an asthma attack, which may be why ethics approval for this second study takes a bit longer to get. Having said this, I believe the second study will be key because it will allow the Prof to translate the sound heard by the stethoscope into a corresponding Wheezo wheeze rate. in turn medical professionals can confidently use this wheeze sound translation when recommending Wheezo to their patients. I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

    GLTA!!
