Sitting at Pudong Airport waiting to jump a kite home after a week in meetings. The 4 main factors worrying the Chinese are as follows and this is from them not me
1. Falling GDP and how it will cause job losses
2. Hyper inflation
3. Food security
4. High house prices locking out poor and the middle class
Been travelling out to a business venture in Jinshan Industrial Zone (30 minutes south of Shanghai CBD) and I watch them build a 1000 apartments 4 years ago, went past yesterday and the grass is so long it is past the windows on the ground floor, I ask Mr Wen Gang why nobody is buying and he told they can not afford the apartments and now they stand empty.
So don't rely on China for growth in the next 10 years, big pressure here and it shows on the faces of every person I talk to and meet with.
Every boom has a bust or major years of stagnation to reset.
