Labor are more than doubling visa application fees and cutting net migration in half by next year. For the liberals it has been that rare thing of something looking like a policy and have been loudly anti-immigration. So should they win power you would expect even deeper cuts to immigration- not sure what their business council and bank buddies will say about that. Australia is one of those aging 1st world countries that without immigration more people die than are born.
So it is all sounding like we should see far more affordable housing and a bit of a property price collapse over the next 5-10 years. Right ?
