Well it’s only a tragedy if you sold your allocated Woodside shares I suppose but I’m sure there are thousands out there that followed the BHP Boards woke lead and did just that .....but oh boy you’d be disappointed in yourself now wouldn’t you ?

If dumped at the first opportunity (like every truly outraged wokester surely would have) in the first week of June that would’ve been at around $30 ......Woodside shares are now around $36 (up 20%) and rising .....and they’ve just announced a thumping interim dividend of $A1.56 per share (fully franked of course)

Meanwhile the mothership BHP shares (all relevant adjustments considered) are still well below where they were trading in that first week in June.

Mmmmm .....still early days I suppose but after much debate about who got the better end of the BHP/WDS ‘merger’ the answer currently seems pretty obvious.

Reality has bitten that the world needs oil and gas for decades as transition fuel....and the market will pay a premium where it’s control and distribution are in safe hands.....and BHP were safe hands....until those hands got all woke and slippery.
