I don't see how anyone can define precisely who or what God the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit form as a group or entity, be it the Trinity or some other way, let alone try to debunk analogous concepts to the Trinity. Besides the commonly held Trinity concept itself can be broken down into two competing and hotly disputed ones! One is the Western churches' concept of the Trinity as promoted by churches like the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) where the Holy Spirit is of the Father and the Son. Then there is the Eastern Orthodox variety where the Holy Spirit is of the Father only. This was the trigger of the Filioque dispute between the two broad groups centuries ago. The Greeks believed the Father alone is the origin of both the Son and the Holy Spirit, and the Greeks campaigned vigorously against the RCC's understanding of the Trinity. Both sides are still refusing to change although the RCC attempted to compromise with the Eastern Orthodox churches on several occasions, but has failed to budge the Greeks and others today one iota.

The other concept is the Oneness Pentecostalism, which is far simpler to understand and is defined as follows and can also be viewed as another Trinity analogy although most do not. Oneness teaching asserts that God is a singular spirit who is one Person, not two or three divine Persons, individuals or minds. "Father", "Son" and "Holy Spirit" are merely titles reflecting the different personal manifestations of the One True God. When Oneness believers speak of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, they see these as three personal manifestations of one Being, one Personal God where any two or three can be manifested at the same time. I vigorously oppose such a concept.

Then there are other concepts, which for now I don't want to go into as it will only complicate it even more than it already is. Note that I do not fully agree with any of the concepts, although I do believe at a high level in some kind of "Trinity" concept, whatever that may be. After all, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit do exist. Am I being too cynical about all this or is there any hope of fully understanding the nature of the three "somethings" be they Persons and/or forces as one God and how they function separately and collectively in terms of God, let alone try to debunk others who follow similar concepts and beliefs? If I am being too cynical then I apologise and I will see if I can have this thread removed. Otherwise, I will let us all ping-pong our way to an ultimate resolution, if that's at all possible. At least it might help all of us to learn something new, at least for those who do not have their minds completely closed. Good luck!
