Another little thought for you;

Nature maintains a constant variable balance ( remember the discussion on the "random factor")

Each 24 hour period is able to cope with X amount of water vapour in the atmosphere ,when point Y is reached it is released as either rain or dew.

Now if as Mr H said, you observe that your car roof is wet with dew,then it will not rain as the balance has been restored in your locale.

Conversely if your car roof is bone dry in the morning then it will invariably rain as the moisture balance has not been restored.

This works even in the desert,anyone else noticed?
