Its the argument that Biofuel drives up food prices which is annoying. Ive been reading up a lot on the Brazil ethanol industry, and it has been a roaring success turning sugar into ethanol. They are well down the track because they made the move to promote this industry in the previous 1973 oil shock.. so they are laughing all the way to the bank now. And the brazilians arent running out of food. They now have a happier rural population of sugar farmers.
Food prices have been driven up because the US chose to travel down the biofuel path using local corn and soybean oils.. all inputs to livestock feed normally. As far as I know if sugar is used and the price of sugar goes up, it wont be increasing livestock feed prices.
