You know how people admire Trump because he’s “Not a corrupt insider”.

    Yeah well, not so much….

We already know he paid the Florida District Attorney to drop the fraud case against him for the Trump University scam. That only cost him $25,000 (plus the 10% slap on the wrist from the IRS for the “accounting error”).

That however, pales by comparison to the $25 million free kick he received from his BFF and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

By the time Chris Christie became governor of New Jersey, the state’s auditors and lawyers had been battling for several years to collect long-overdue taxes owed by the casinos founded by his friend Donald J. Trump.

The total, with interest, had grown to almost $30 million. The state had doggedly pursued the matter through two of the casinos’ bankruptcy cases and even accused the company led by Mr. Trump of filing false reports with state casino regulators about the amount of taxes it had paid.

The year after Governor Christie, a Republican, took office, the tone of the litigation shifted. The state entertained settlement offers. And in December 2011, after six years in court, the state agreed to accept just $5 million, roughly 17 cents on the dollar of what auditors said the casinos owed.

Christie claims that he was unaware of the deal. Which is odd, considering that Trump and Christie had been friends for nine years, including numerous shared adventures. They even went on double dates. Trump was a guest at Christie’s inauguration shortly before the tax deal.

Christie recently received the down payment on his financial quid quo pro when Trump hosted a fundraiser for Christie, raising $250k to pay off the entire debt from his failed run for the Republican Presidential nomination.

While still running against Trump, Christie was pretty scathing about the great orange one:

    * Gov. Chris Christie on Monday said Donald Trump's call for a "total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States" in the wake of the San Bernardino terror attack is "ridiculous," deriding it as "the kind of thing that people say when they have no experience and don't know what they're talking about."

    * Christie denying Trump’s ability to command the nation’s military. “We are not electing an entertainer-in-chief. Showmanship is fun, but it’s not the type of leadership that will truly change America,” Christie said on the campus of Saint Anselm College in Goffstown, New Hampshire. “If we’re going to turn our frustration and anger with the D.C. insiders and the politicians of yesterday and the carnival barkers of today into something that will actually change Americans’ lives, then we must elect someone who has been tested, someone with proven experience.”

    * Christie slammed Trump for acting like a “13-year-old” when he threatened to boycott the Fox News debate, questioning his temperament to be president.
“What’s that tell you about what we can expect if things go sideways when you go into the Oval Office? What are you going to do? Go upstairs to the residence and say 'I’m not playing'?” he said. “You know, 'Vladimir Putin isn’t being nice to me, I’m not going to return his call'?

    * “The fact is we don't need to be profiling in order to be able to get the job done here,” Christie told CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “What you need is a president who's had the experience and the know-how to do this and not someone who's just going to talk off the top of their head.” Christie warned New Hampshire voters to be wary of any presidential candidate who says he will build a wall across the southern border, as Trump did when he announced his candidacy.
“It’s not going to happen. It’s the wrong message to send, and it’s not going to be effective,” he said during a town hall. “Always beware of the candidate for public office who has the quick and easy answer to a complicated problem.”

Considering Christie didn’t get the Veep slot he was expecting, why is he now drinking so thirstily of the “Trump for Prez” Kool-Aid?

Oh yeah…he’s only received the first instalment so far.

Nope, no insider corruption here people…. “It’s true…Believe me folks, it's going to be beautiful”!
