You are right about piggy-backing. In the US in the late '90s a lot of analysts and brokers recommended trading "first cousins" of a stock that exploded. For example, if Intel took off and you missed the rally, you just bought another of the semi-conductor stocks which rode on the coat-tails of Intel. Look in Australia at the moment at the stocks which have 'new' needle technology, piggybacking on UNI's sp rise.
