Given the total number of shares currently outstanding as shorts, and given what we DO know about the way Morgan Stanley plays the game (we know because they are obliged to tell the market every couple of weeks, due to holding >5%), then I think the share price IS being manipulated up and down, particularly down.
It is being done precisely because LYC is a reasonable value stock but with huge volume. They have no problem pushing it around. It is very liquid.
And the fact that most of those "Substantial Holdings" announcements show Morgan Stanley as having increased their net holdings after each bout of shenanigans.
The information is right out in the open - but we can't change it.
