What price we average at auction is the issue for me. Reading through the treads several are predicting/hoping for $100+ per carat. Tibbs mentioned in his earlier post [this thread] that Gemfields received $225m for 8.6m carats over 3.5 years. That's only $30 per carat. I know that the value of these rubies are increasing over time and those sold earlier, 3.5 years ago would have not achieved todays prices. Does anyone know what average Gemfields received at their latest auction.
Anyway, we will find out what our rubies are worth next week.
