Most of the diseases were at very low rates or falling rapidly due to a better standard of living, sanitary conditions such as sewerage and running clean water. They did not fall due to vaccinations.
I remember getting two different polio vaccinations when at school, the first one we were told never worked and had very adverse affects and the second as for the first we were told it is safe and effective.
That information upset a lot of people, the kids getting those vaccs as well.
That is just the truth of the matter and I was there to see and get them.
Also Ive been told the TB vaccines dont work and never did.
We were also told DDT was safe when the councils use to come around with big fog machines and fog the neigherhood with DDT just for fruit fly.
Everyone was also told that Thalidomide was safe for pregnant women.
We were also told some of the drugs to treat depression were safe and some of them caused more suicides than the problem.
Just plain living through some of this gives you a different outlook on it.
