The publications I read on the Amish reported that generally, they only get vaccinated to prevent being infected from someone with the disease in their community. So, their vaccinations are targeted and taken later in life which would explain why it has little adverse effect on them. Additionally, they live with farm animals, drink unpasturised milk and cheese and therefore have a better equipped microbiome and immune system then a one or two year old child that was delivered by c-section and brought up in a clean environment. I suggest reading this publication which explains the differences in neonatal gut-mircobiome and its effect on the immune system.
