Not sure statements like "Vaccines are safe and effective" will cut much ice with a Royal Commissioner. He or she might like to see some evidence and it would be a great opportunity for the vaccine industry to put forward their case.

The commissioner might like to look at studies that compare health outcomes for vaccinated children with non-vaccinated children. That's the most obvious study that I could think of. We want to be scientific about it, right? Menta keeps putting up such a study (and a multitude of others).. not very encouraging results for the vaccine industry. Not sure when and where that study was done off hand - so we should immediately do one in Australia.

How other countries go about vaccinations would also be an interesting line of enquiry. For example, last I heard Gardasil is banned in Japan and France - maybe others. The recent Measels outbreak in Ukraine is a bit strange as they (being an ex communist country) are very strict about vaccinations.

A Royal Commission might cause another dilemma for the various authorities. The Department of whatever it called these days might have to issue visas for overseas experts who were previously denied visas for expressing negative views on vaccines. The local health body would also need to agree NOT to withdraw practicing registration for doctors in Australia who wanted to express their concerns also.

Prior to the financial services royal commission, the only people who thought the bankers etc were squeaky clean were the politicians. So sometimes its worth listening to ordinary people.
