The studies linked in previous posts show the most dangerous, and most ignored, aspect of the resurgence in whopping cough (and it's not just a failed vaccine). It's vaccinated people who are infectious asymptomatic carriers, who do not display the symptoms of whooping cough, but are transmitting pertussis to those around them (especially the most vulnerable; their babies and younger siblings).
