There was early interest in the known immune boosting effect of BCG vaccine being used to increase immunity against COVID.

A study just published indicates mortality rates may be lower in countries which had a widespread vaccination program against TB using BCG.

It seems the BCG not only works for TB but boosts immune responses against other infections.
