Phase I would be long finished with Sankyo and Phase II material was made some months ago (remember it takes a very short time to produce). The approval will be available world wide in the event of a pandemic at least as early as Phase IIa/b, a point that could be reached as early as the end of this year if necessary. Should a pandemic appear the pressure to produce (ordered to produce even?) from governments will be overwhelming. Even early phase zanamivir trials for IV delivery were completed 7 years ago so there is a long history of tardiness.

Dank is correct, we need billions of courses and LANI is an essential element in that biosafety protection system particularly as it will provide a ten-fold increase in effective supply over existing anti-virals.
