There are degrees of danger in most, if not all activities on this planet: mobile phone towers, mobile phones, aluminium smelters, driving a car under the influence, being a passenger in a car whose driver is driving under the influence, being in a car that is being followed by another car whose driver is driving under the influence etc etc etc.

The arguements for and against are never ending.

As to the debate whether coal is more of a worry versus uranium...ask yourself, if you lived in an earthquake-prone country smack on the pacific ring of fire, would you rather live next door to a coal-fired power station or a nuclear one???

I just find it a little bit precious posting research articles when, if you take into consideration the oil industry and the fact that oil is used in the manufacture of pretty much everything, as well as the plastics that the computer you are currently using is made from, and then take into account the pollution that is synonymous with the industry, not to mention environmental damage through disasters.

Well, if your not dressed in a loin cloth living off the land on some remote desert island - no electricity, no cars, no nothing then it's a little bit difficult for anybody to take the moral high-ground.
