Milk powder rose $34 million (3.9 percent) in value to reach $891 million; quantity was down 15 percent

The monthly movements for January 2020 for our top export partners (ranked by total annual goods exports) were:
China – up $302 million (31 percent) to $1.3 billion, led by a rise in milk powder, butter, and cheese (up $143 million); beef (up $77 million); and logs, wood, and wood articles (up $32 million).
Australia – little changed, up 0.1 percent to $597 million.
USA – up $69 million (16 percent) to $489 million. The rise was led by casein and caseinates (up $23 million) and beef (up $24 million).
Japan – up $49 million (23 percent) to $261 million led by milk powder, butter, and cheese (up $21 million).
EU – up $24 million (7.5 percent) to $344 million led by meat and edible offal (up $34 million). This was partly offset by milk powder, butter, and cheese (down $16 million).
