My logic presupposes that the shorter(s) transact not all-at-once at the end, but rather, they transact progressively. One assumes that your chart illustrates there has been success for the shorter(s) over the period in which their strategy has been in play. Indeed, it would seem improbable that the shorter(s) would persist in a months’ long game of sustained losses. So, I do not think it is unreasonable to logically deduce that, on balance to date, they enjoy an overall profit on their strategy. However, as your chart also illustrates, if the share price is maintained or continues to rise, this will of course change.
