That's what the shorters want you to think with their price manipulating tactics, you can watch as they drop the price by a few cents with minimal volume, by making a few tiny sales below bid (often crossed), then a few more a cent lower and repeat in quick succession. I watched this yesterday, they are very good at it, but eventually reality will take over or genuine buyers will just pick up all shares on offer and they'll need even more to cover their shorts.
