South Australia (royal commission) did look into this in 2016 but it did not go anywhere due to Federal ban and also (to kill it) they introduced a "citizen jury" which was predictably that constituted of the "great unwashed"of anti-nuclear activists who voted in down on high spurious claim. Few looked at the great case comrcial case for (like Rosatom in Russia promotes) to rent nuclear fuel. This is to mine uranium, convert it, enrich it & fabricate it and then to lease it to overseas countries and then take back the spent HL waste to dispose of it in about the most stable (both politically and geologically) country in the world (e,g Australia) - it would be highly a profitable business. Instead it appears that we want to produce "green hydrogen" which has no commercial basis and once transported to Europe/USA is not very "green" after it has been liquefied (to -252C), use bunker oil (and maintained as a liquid) to ship to German et al and then degassed on arrival (plus the leakage of the smallest atom on the way/in storage) - great commercial thinking by our genius - Chris Bowen!
