Not so. I have twice had a major bank give me a substantial amount by mistake. A few years ago, I received the equivalent of $100K in today's money and another time about $40K. I sorted it out with them but it would have been interesting to have seen how long it took for them to pickup on it. I suspect it would have taken months and one of them may never have been, based on what the manager told me allowed it to happen.
