As stupid as it sounds there maybe pressure from Trump for Australia to get its act together and supply Uranium to the USA. The possibility of that happening may have scared the shorts.
I think the one clear thing is that Trump doesn't mix his words and given the respect Rudd and Albo have shown Trump in the past it might be a interesting meeting.
