Wow Dazed thats impactful to say the least. I look at the US economy in terms of a business. And any business that takes on the percentage of debt compared to what it produces in terms of goods, services and commodoties that the US has would basically be classified as a bad business, or one in need of reform .

A core of aim of any decent CEO in any business should be to minimize or eliminate debt. I admired John Howard for that in Australia, he paid down down debt and realized some of the earnings from the mining boom needed to be saved in the future fund.

If the US Fed was my finance dept and Yellen was chief financial officer shed be sacked immediately , we call a board meeting and make it a priority to pay down debt effective immediately. Thats good business sense. Old fashioned good business sense.
