You defy history by suggesting Europe would now be divided between fascists and communists.

Invasions are temporary affairs and regardless who won I have no doubt that the status quo would have reverted to what it is now whether sooner or later.

What? The Romans aren't still in Brittain. The Mongols aren't still in Europe. The Holy Roman empire doesn't control Europe. The USSR doesn't control all east Europe. Brittain hasn't got colonies in India. Spain doen't control South America. Portugal etc the same.

The suggestion that tens of millions more would have died in WW2 is nonsense. In fact capitulation would have saved lives.

You talk about the brave soldiers without acknowledging that every soldier claims that war is a nonsense and a shame on us all.

They excused themselves by declaring WW1 was the war to end all wars because after going through its horrors, no one would ever be foolish to repeat it. That didn't stop the politicians and sadly new youth were just as stupid to give themselves up as cannon fodder once again.
