Can't blame Putin for finally having had enough of the US lies and global bullying tactics. James Baker gave Gorbachev a verbal guarantee in 1990 that NATO wouldn't move west - US leaders (no doubt under pressure from their greedy rich arms manufacturers) have since stated that nothing was in writing and that the Soviet Union isn't Russia - that's just a cop out as the Soviet Union was obviously going to dissolve due to what was agreed. The minutes of the 1990 meeting were declassified in 2017. Minutes of Baker Gorbachev Meeting The Real US feelings on their position in the world was leaked to The New York Times in March 1992 and was known as the Wolfowitz Doctrine Wolfowitz Doctrine Basically it stated that the US would never let any other country be No 1 in the world. It was later changed because this wasn't meant to be made public. China's going to be the leader of the new world order and Russia's not going to be on the west's side when the brown stuff hits the fan. Russia offered to become part of NATO a couple of times which would have made the world a safer place but the US wanted to punish Russia which it felt had held a Nuclear weapon over it's head for years. So the fallout is that Russia does not trust the west (not surprising, don't forget Hitler and Napoleon) and is drawing it's line in the sand like the US did with the Cuban Missile crisis in October 1962. China's going to be the leader of the new world order and Russia's not going to be on the west's side. I believe the Russians will take back the Russian parts of the Ukraine in a similar fashion to Crimea with little bloodshed. It would be so simple to make Ukraine a Neutral country and honour the 1990 agreement. Instead it's going to be the loser as the west will fail to do anything significant about it just like Crimea and Georgia. Putin is a nasty Mother and has Nuclear weapons - All the west has to do is keep their word. The Russians will sell all their Gas to the Chinese. DONT POKE THE BEAR!
