Looking at those bullet points of yours, nothing's really changed over the last 200 years. Have to disagree with you on a previous point however: the slaughter of "innocent kids", as you say, is indeed horrific. But many people consider the slaughter of a thousand times that number of "innocent kids-in-progress" to be a far more heinous crime. You may not agree with their view, but can you not at least see where they're coming from? The corollary also being that a pregnant woman's body, by definition, is one that is carrying another developing body, and that her personal rights can therefore no longer be considered independently without reference to the rights of the latter. Hope this reduces your, and your sister in law's despair, just a little.
