I come from a long line of gold believers. My Uncle has horded a mass of it because he fundamentally does not trust the banks or the government. HE is also a normal person too and does not wish to be rich!!!

My grandmother was the same.

It is wealth preservation. And if we are called on the preserve our wealth that way then oh dear things will be bad and we will be lucky enough to have preserved something.

My approach is pay off debt,own your own home, grow your own food and buy gold.
