Newman is an extremist imo.

I'm a rider myself (or used to be since I sold my last bike after my heart attack) and I decided Qld was too unsafe to ride during that period. similar actions were taken by the NSW Lib govt around that time. just not as victimising or bikers.

while I get what they were trying to do, and theres no doubt some bike clubs engage in crim activities.... always have as they value their ideology as "outlaws". but the rhetoric was tagging all motorcycle riders with the same brush. I knew one guy, who like me just loves to ride, who as pulled over during that time. he was treated like scum, gone over with a fine comb until they found the small amount of cannabis in his backpack and generally treated to 1960's style abuse.

bikers are a very mixed crew. some are lawyers, some labourers. on the road we're all brothers. not crims.
