Joe Biden has announced Californian Senator Kamala Harris as his Vice Presidential running mate.
Ms Harris is the daughter of immigrants from Jamaica and India and was always considered the frontrunner in the field comprising six coloured women.
She was the frontrunner in a field of six coloured women.
Sorry to ask but what is the definition of sexism and racism if this is not it?
Here we have the Democrats, a major political party in the United States of America, openly declaring from the outset that Biden’s running mate would be a woman of colour.
Throwing merit out the window as if it’s from a bygone era.
I am not suggesting for one moment that Ms Harris is not politically talented.
But when a major left-wing political party start obsessing over a person’s identity and their skin colour – then there is a problem.
The Left used to tell us to look past someone’s skin colour and socio-economic background.
Didn’t Martin Luther King Jr say, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a Nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character.”
We all agree with that. It is called equal opportunity.
The idea that no matter your background – race, gender, skin colour, religion, what your parents do for a job – we all receive an equal opportunity to make the most out of our lives.
But now, the new radical Left are obsessed with labelling people based on their skin colour and gender.
Playing politics through identity. It’s gormless.
Kamala Harris will now be viewed by American voters as only being in her position because she was a woman of colour.
Someone explain to me how that is empowering for her?
I do not believe sensible Americans adhere to this nonsense.
As for Joe Biden - he sounds like he’s had a can of beer before he opens his mouth to speak.
My prediction - Trump will walk in.
