I know that the new ponds and facilities must be designed and built in a manner that ensures their structural integrity and effective protection against flash floods. Does anyone here know anything about the actual/specific design criteria that Orocobre used for flood protection? I assume that projects of this magnitude would require major protection agains very large flood events, such as the expected 50-year flood or perhaps the expected 100-year flood. Would anyone here know the specific criteria that was/is used for flood protection? (e.g., Facilities are designed and built to protect against the 100 year flood).
I am hoping that one of the old timers or resident gurus here may know the answer (e.g., Niu, Audax, etc.).
Many thanks in advance and go Orocobre!
